Status:  Two exhibitions have occurred, one in Montreal and one in Tokyo.

This project is complete, although I would like to one day resurrect it with more collaborators in Tokyo, in order to create a video exchange.

A Video of the Montreal event and stories is available on the website.

This is a collaborative, participatory community artwork bringing together the stories of the relationships that create our everyday experience of urban life.

人は街 街は人   –   The people are the city.
This means that the people, their actions, and relationships between people create the life of the city.
これは人々や人々の活動、人間関係が街の生命を作り出しているという意味です。

This art piece looks at relationships between people in the urban settings of Montreal and Tokyo, with the goal of creating a portrait of Montreal and a portrait of Tokyo.
この作品はモントリオールと東京の都会を舞台とした人間関係に注目する事により、モントリオールと東京の肖像を作り出す事を目的としています。

You are invited to exchange memories of urban life in Tokyo with Montrealers.  東京での都会生活の記憶をモントリオールの人たちと共有してください。

Living City "live" - Collaboration & audience participation.
Living City began with a collaborative art project that involved over 12 artists, performers, video editors and skilled individuals, who together collected over 35 stories from audience members in Monteral. This event took place as part of Montreal's biggest night of culture and visual art - Nuit Blanche, on March 2nd, 2013. It took place at the MainLine theater as part of Art Matter's //IN BETWEEN\\ festival: https://www.facebook.com/events/465811323491691/ (application included a juried competition.) The original Living City, Nuit Blanche event' page on Facebook can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/112591055592699/

The artwork took place in three spaces: a cinematic space, with a video projected and theater seating, a mysterious reception room, where guides invited audience members to participate, a secret backstage story collecting room, and live collective video creation onsite. There were 3 cycles which included intermittent screenings of collected stories and 3 storycollecting participatory performance rounds.
